Our Teachers

 

English Today Language Teachers are not only well-qualified but also very experienced. On Average, our teachers each have two ESL or other teaching qualifications plus an Average of almost 11 years of teaching experience. This is why so many of our students get great TOEFL and IELTS scores, and 100% get accepted into Jakarta’s various International Schools.

 

Teacher Profiles

 

Matthew has been teaching English in Jakarta, Indonesia since 2000. He has advanced ESL teaching qualifications, including one accredited by Cambridge University. He is also certified by ETS, the company that produces the TOEFL and TOEIC examinations.

Matthew has focused in teaching TOEFL, TOEIC and other test preparation classes including IELTS, He regularly advises other ESL teachers on constructive ways to teach TOEFL and is currently developing a specialized TOEFL textbook specifically for Indonesian students planning to take the TOEFL test..

In order to be a better test preparation teacher, Matthew has taken the TOEFL examinations several times. He has always achieved a perfect score in each section of these tests, so you can trust his advice completely.

 

 

Allan has been working at English Today since 2006. He has many years of experience teaching International School Preparation Classes. He also has several professional qualifications, including one that is accepted by the British government to qualify him as a top-quality English teacher. Allan specializes in building the confidence of young students preparing to enter Jakarta’s International Schools

 

 

Our Newest Teacher Mr. Karl

In England, he studied English Language at A-Level and graduated with a very high A grade.  This gave him an in depth understanding of the English language and he has had a passion for it ever since.

he applies this passion and detailed understanding to his teaching. During his first two years in Jakarta, he taught with English First (EF). Here, as well as his standard teaching role, he was in charge of a remedial programme, giving specific help to struggling students and also coordinated the schools Corporate Language Training classes, which involved teaching English in clients’ offices to meet specific needs.

Before Moving to Indonesia,  he worked with England ‘s Army Welfare Service, providing Youth Development programmes to young people from military families. Here, he offered the young people a chance to develop their characters and life skills in a fun and social environment. Now, he always endeavours to make the learning process as varied and as enjoyable as possible for young and mature students alike.

Now he teaches part time with English Today, where he strives to meet the needs of every client equally. he has a great deal of experience teaching students from the age of 3 years old to 40+ and from a wide variety of backgrounds. he can organize his courses to suit the specific requirements of any client and will be happy to discuss your own needs personally, to ensure that the course gives exactly what you are hoping for.
